I got this quilt finished before Thanksgiving, but never took a full picture of it. Thanks to a friend, its photographed and done. I love the visual impact of the hand quilted Baptist Fans. Its all hand pieced from vintage 60's fabrics.
I still have a little "vintage" fabric from the 70. Some of it is my favorites so I only use a little at a time. The baptist fan is such a great quilting pattern for vintage or vintage looking quilts. I don't have the Circle Lord so I was happy to find a nice Baptist Fan panto recently. I do have a set of sew boards but it looks like they could be a hassle to keep the design lined up when rolling. I could be wrong. I'm more used to pantos.
I had to look up "pantos". I've never been able to machine quilt .... too many "pucks and tuckers". I find hand quilting to be a relaxing, satisfying activity for me, so I have always quilted by hand.
Love this one. Hand quilting and bright colors. Somehow (because I'm "old") the 60's don't seem like they could be "vintage"....LOL!
